Really, Elizabeth? Well, this charter parent is paying for your children's education. And for that matter, our local schools have been under control of Federal mandates for years. A lot of good that has done. You miss the point of what charter schools are about.....less government control, freedom to use innovative teaching methods and increased parent involvement. You sound like a Democrat.

Hi Mike,
I thought you were a conservative. My neighbor decides to go to a Jan Jones charter school. I have to pay for it but have no say in the funding, oversight or
authorization - the Georgia Charter School Commission will not be elected by the voters. That is called taxation without respresentation. It is also called expansion of government authority over my local schools. Is that what Republicans stand for now?
I think I'll switch parties.

If Congress and political pundits continue to manufactor crises like the bogus dept ceiling instead of dealing with real problems like creating jobs our economy will only get worse. In periods of economic recession the government needs to be spending money in order get people back to work and spur ecomonic growth. To suggest that raising taxes will kill jobs is a falsity. This has never been proven. In fact, the opposite tends to be true. When George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton rasied taxes in the 1990s the U.S. had one of its strongest economic periods in our history. Before lawmakers and talking heads start spouting solutions to this economic quagmire perhaps they should brush-up on their U.S. history.

Mike

My name is Phill Lombardo. As a special ed. teacher, I've advocated for students for the past 33 years.

I must add that I've done so without any political motivation.

I challenged Ms. Rhee to match my accomplishments with her own on national television.

She didn't respond.

Is that confrontational enough for you?
